Kahu Mai creations was born from a love of batik fabrics. Raised in Indonesia as a child, I saw firsthand the process of making batik fabric, falling in love with the watercolor look. Mystical and vivid colors, hand dyed with wax application. Producing some of the most beautiful prints. Starting at age 12, I had a love for sewing, especially quilting. I became a nurse for 30+ years, and made most of my own scrubs and surgical attire. Retired in 2017, I decided to launch my home business here on the slopes of Haleakala Crater. Always allowing my creative side to emerge. Each and every fabric is hand selected for its color and beauty.
I am blessed to live on Maui, embracing my Hawaiian heritage and visually amazed each & every day at the beauty of the island. Sunrise to sunset, water colors abound.
This year 2020 has been very challenging for all of us. We hope and pray for a better future. May Aloha Ke Akua, be with all of you and your Ohana.
